“Family is not defined by our genes. It is built and maintained through love.”-Amalia G. We witnessed the true value of this quote in one of our photoshoots. It was for a stronglybonded family with a very touching story. Danae and her husband Brian met fifteen years ago. They fell madly in love and tied the knot. Over the years, God blessed them with three beautiful daughters; Alexis, Madison, and Makennah.
As time passed by, they realized they wanted to experience larger embrace. So, they decided to widen the scope of what constitutes ties and family. These kind-hearted humans chose to welcome foster kids in their homes. They got a call in July 2019 for a two-year-old boy named Dantaie. He was in foster care but needed a place he could call home, forever. Danae and Brian were lucky to meet this adorable blue-eyed boy on 11th July 2019. There and then, they decided they wanted to bring the cute blessing home.
This couple got to know that Dantaie’s biological mother was pregnant with another baby. They were given a choice to keep the siblings together. It was a lot for them to give thought to. However, they took their time to pray about it and asked God to guide them. On 13th September 2019, Dantaie’s beautiful sister was born. She arrived in this world a little early but was healthy and weighed 4 pounds 11 ounces. Danae and Brian went to see the girl, and they fell in love with the little angel. That’s how Evellyn became part of the Herrera family. We were in tears listening to this story of love, mercy, and kindness. We are also very grateful to be able to capture the day this sweet couple fully adopted Dantaie and Evellyn.
The emotions on that day were unparalleled. Watching the parents and their daughters showering love on the little siblings was a sight that we will never forget. It is evident that they are all so fond of each other. It is admirable how Danae and Brian changed the world for two children. They don’t differentiate between all their kids, and that’s amazing. We are sure Danae goes by this quote, “Not flesh of my flesh, nor bone of my bone, But still miraculously my own.
